Shock- young mum killed by Cancer
Nursery nurse Rachel Sarjantson’s family said her
death after a year’s battle with the disease was
“completely avoidable”. They are now campaigning
to lower the smear test age from 25.
Sister Zoe said: “If the limit had been lowered
already she might still be here. So many young girls
are dying.”
Doctors thought Rachel, of Blackpool, Lancs, was in
the clear after surgery last year. But the cancer
came back. Health experts insist the potential harm
from smear-testing younger women outweighs the
benefits.
