Baba Ijebu Donates N300 Million To Lagos Govt To Fight Coronavirus

Popular philanthropist and businessman, Sir Kensington Adebutu, has given the whopping sum of N300 million to the Lagos State government to help it fight coronavirus in the state. The state currently has the highest number of coronavirus cases in the country with 68 and the state government has put in place measures to fight the disease. In a letter addressed to the state governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, dated March 30, Sir Kesington, popularly known as Baba Ijebu, described the donation as his own way helping the state in bringing succor to those who are down with the disease. Buhari restrict movement in Abuja, Lagos for 14 days

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the restriction of movements in Nigeria’s capital city Abuja and Lagos, which are the hardest hit by a coronavirus in the country. “Based on the advice of the Federal Ministry of Health and the NCDC, I am directing the cessation of all movements in Lagos and the FCT for an initial period of 14 days with effect from 11 pm on Monday, 30th March 2020. “All citizens in these areas are to stay in their homes. Travel to or from other states should be postponed. All businesses and offices within these locations should be fully closed during this period.” Nigeria on Thursday, February 28, confirmed its first case of coronavirus in Lagos State. World heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, has placed himself in self-isolation following a meeting with Prince Charles, who tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday Charles, the eldest son, and heir to Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, is showing mild symptoms of coronavirus and is self-isolating in Scotland, officials said on Wednesday.
